Industrial Action Update – Partial school closure 01.02.23

Mae Sir Ddinbych yn atgoffa rhieni a gofalwyr ein bod wedi cael gwybod bod streic genedlaethol gan aelodau’r Undeb Addysg Cenedlaethol wedi’i threfnu ar gyfer dydd Mercher 1 Chwefror ac 14 Chwefror 2023, a gallai hyn effeithio ar weithrediad ysgolion yn y Sir. Mae diwrnodau ychwanegol wedi’u cynllunio ar gyfer 15 ac 16 Mawrth 2023.

Rhagwelir y bydd hyn yn arwain at ostyngiad sylweddol o ran lefelau staffio mewn ysgolion a bydd yn effeithio ar bob ardal o Gymru.

Ar hyn o bryd, mae pob ysgol yn asesu a allant aros ar agor, neu ar agor yn rhannol, ar y diwrnodau hyn, ac os ddim, a fydd angen cau’r safleoedd i ddysgwyr ar y diwrnodau hyn.

Bydd ysgolion yn cysylltu’n uniongyrchol â rhieni a gofalwyr am benderfyniadau unigol ac i rannu gwybodaeth.

Yn ogystal, mae Cymdeithas Genedlaethol y Prifathrawon wedi rhoi gwybod i Sir Ddinbych y bydd eu haelodau’n dechrau camau gweithredu heb fod yn streic o 1 Chwefror 2023.

Rydym yn sylweddoli y gallai’r camau gweithredu diwydiannol hyn achosi amhariad sylweddol i ddysgu ein plant a phobl ifanc, a’i bod yn bosibl y bydd angen gwneud trefniadau amgen yn ystod y diwrnodau hyn pe bai eich ysgol yn cau/cau’n rhannol. Ymddiheurwn am unrhyw anghyfleustra y gall hyn ei achosi.

Denbighshire are reminding parents and carers that we have been notified that national strike action by members of the National Education Union (NEU) is planned to take place on the Wednesday 1^st February and 14^th February 2023 which may impact on the operation of schools within the County. Additional days are also planned on the 15^th and 16^th March 2023.

This is anticipated to result in a significant reduction in staffing levels within schools and will affect all areas of Wales.

All schools are currently assessing whether they can remain open or partially open on these days and if not whether the sites will need to be closed to learners on these days.

Schools will communicate directly with parents and carers regarding individual decisions and information.

In addition, the National Association of Headteachers have notified Denbighshire that their members will commence action short of strike action as of the 1^st February 2023.

We appreciate that this industrial action has the potential to cause significant disruption to the learning of our children and young people, and that alternative arrangements may need to be in place during these days should your school close/partial close.
