** RHYBUDD TYWYDD GARW **
** SEVERE WEATHER WARNING **
Please check the Denbighshire website for schools closures:
Link: Denbighshire Up-To-Date School Closure List
The decision to close a school is never made lightly. Every effort will be made to keep the school open but several factors must be taken into consideration – children and staff’s health and safety and the number of staff who are absent due to bad weather.
In the past we have closed the whole of the school because of bad weather and have also closed part of the school due to lack of staff in some Units. Again – we must emphasise that EVERY EFFORT will be made to stay open. The fact that many of Ysgol y LLys staff live in rural areas must be taken into account, as the effects of the weather can vary greatly from area to area. This is one of the few instances where the running of the school is affected due to the weather.
If a decision is made to close the school – we will contact the parents as soon as possible. The Headteacher will e-mail parents and a message will be posted on the school’s website. Please use the website for the latest information. The parents can also contact the school on 01745 853019 first thing in the morning for more information.
We appreciate the effects that closing the school can have on parents – especially with childcare and also on work. We will do our best to ensure consistency and to inform you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your co-operation
